Two thirds of people in the UK now discern virtually no social difference between marriage - once the bedrock institution of British society - and unformalised cohabitation.
Yet British singles remain more attached to the idea of matrimony than their counterparts elsewhere in Western Europe and are twice as likely to say "I do" than their European cousins - as revealed by a new 13-country survey of 13,000 adults, commissioned by PARSHIP, Europe's largest premium online matchmaking service.
